  1. Is work experience necessary for admission?

    For the RN to MSN and MSN programs, work experience is not required. However, a current U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) and current résumé is required.

    For the Post-MSN to DNP program, a minimum of two years of experience as a licensed RN is required. Experience as a board certified APRN is recommended and preferred.

  2. Who is eligible to apply to Nursing@Simmons?

    Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and must meet the Nursing@Simmons admissions requirements for their degree program of interest.

  3. Are test scores from examinations such as GRE or GMAT required for admission?

    No, but if you feel test scores will strengthen your application, you should discuss this with an Admissions Counselor at 1-855-461-7466.

  4. What is the application fee?

    The Nursing@Simmons application fee is $50. Applicants who submit by the priority deadline will receive a reduced application fee of $30. The application fee is nonrefundable.

  5. How can I finance my degree at Nursing@Simmons?

    Students have various options to fund their degree. These options include federal loans, private loans, grants, scholarships, payment plans, loan forgiveness programs, and employer tuition assistance programs. For details, visit Financing Your Nursing Degree.

  6. Is there an application fee waiver?

  7. Are transfer credits accepted to the program?

    For RN to MSN and MSN students, Nursing@Simmons will accept no more than 2 courses (8 credits maximum) of transfer credit.

  8. Can I request that my transcripts be sent electronically?

    Many schools issue transcripts electronically, either through their own web services or through vendors. If this option is available through the institutions you attended, please specify that your transcript(s) be sent to Application Services or select Simmons University – Nursing@Simmons if listed as an option through the vendor. This will expedite the delivery of your transcript(s) and the completion of your application.
