Recognizing the increasing complexity of our nation’s health care environment, Nursing@Simmons is offering an online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program for licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) and board-certified APRNs. The Nursing@Simmons online DNP program integrates evidence-based practice with strong analytical and leadership principles to prepare nurses for the highest level of professional nursing practice.
Applicants will choose one of two degree paths based on their educational background and career goals.
Post-BS/BA to DNP: The innovative, online Post-BS/BA to DNP program is designed for licensed RNs who hold a bachelor’s degree. With this program, you will receive exceptional hands-on training in primary care to become a DNP-prepared family nurse practitioner (FNP). As an FNP, you will provide holistic care in diverse settings to patients across the life span. As you progress through the DNP program, you will further elevate your clinical knowledge through the integration and application of evidence-based research.
Post-MSN to DNP: The post-master’s online DNP program is developed for board-certified APRNs who have earned their MSN. This unique program prepares APRNs to advance their clinical practice through the implementation of evidence-based research. DNP-prepared nurses become leaders in a variety of health care settings, transform health care systems and policies, and improve outcomes for patients and communities.
