New legislation has opened the doors to affordable health care for more than 32 million Americans. This increased patient population, coupled with a shortage of primary care physicians, has taken the need for Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) to an all-time high — and it will only continue to increase.
Nursing@Simmons’ innovative, online RN to MSN program is for experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) who do not currently hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
The CCNE-accredited RN to MSN program focuses on helping nurses expand their clinical knowledge and gain the skills and credentials they need to serve as primary care providers to patients across the life span.
Students can complete the program on either a part-time or full-time basis. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to sit for the Family Nurse Practitioner certification exam. Simmons is proud of our graduates’ first-time pass rate on the exam as it is well above the national average.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you can expand your practice far beyond the hospital setting — into private practice, nurse-managed clinics, community outreach, or research. FNPs work in a variety of specialties, including pediatrics, cardiac medicine, internal medicine, and women’s health.
