Empowering and educating nurses since 1902, Simmons University offers an online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) — Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program that brings our esteemed campus-based FNP program to you through a dynamic, online learning platform featuring live classes.

Application Requirements

To apply to the program, you must have:

  • bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university
  • a current unencumbered and unrestricted U.S. registered nurse (RN) license
  • successfully completed (with a grade of 83 or better) a three-credit course in statistics and a three-credit course in health assessment. If you do not meet this requirement, please contact admissions to discuss other options for fulfilling this requirement.

In addition to completing the online application, you will need to submit the following items:

  • current résumé
  • one- to two-page personal statement
  • transcript(s) of your academic record
  • three letters of recommendation
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score, if your native language is not English. The School of Nursing TOEFL code is 3761.

Upcoming Start Date

Simmons’ MSN — FNP online program has five start dates offered throughout the year and admits students on a rolling basis. The final deadline for the September 2024 cohort is April 1, 2024.
